Racing Club Skelladale are a Brae based football team founded in the summer of 2009. They claim on their website that they are an “elite footballing unit” and the 2010/11 season has proved just that, having become the Prostar League champions.

So, why is this worthy of a news story? Well, when the team formed two years ago they asked Mind Your Head if they could use the MYH logo on their strips, as they wanted to show their support for the charity and raise awareness of mental ill health. We were of course delighted to be associated with the team and sponsor a Player of the Year trophy.

Player Danny Peterson said: “Mind Your Head is such a worthwhile charity and a unique provider of support in Shetland. Racing Club Skelladale decided to don the MYH logo to continue the work MYH has done to raise awareness of mental ill health, particularly with young men in Shetland. Hopefully the partnership can last for years to come and both MYH and the RCS go from strength to strength!!”

Well done boys, keep it up!
