The event took place on Sunday 24th August in Cunningsburgh and this year was sponsored by TL Dallas. Ruth Newbold from the main sponsor along with Mind Your Head's Vice-Chair Shona Manson got the 9th event underway with 628 participants either running or walking the 5k or 10k route around Cunningsburgh.

Although all the monies have not been totalled yet, over £4,500 was generated through registration fees alone and a number of participants have been fundraising through the charity's Fundraising Page as well. The Sunday Teas, with lovely homebakes donated by a number of volunteer supporters, were also very popular and the charity are confident that in the region of £8,000 will have been generated.

Team Leader, Jacqui Clark said "The Fun Run is the flagship event for us and we increadibly grateful for the generosity of the Shetland Community - the funds generated go directly into promoting mental health positively in our community. Our Fun Run is just one way we do that". She added "Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so special - participants, the many volunteers, those who donated funds and sponsors. "

The charity are now looking forward to the 10th annual fun run and walk in 2015 and they are keen to hear ideas from the public on how this important milestone should be celebrated. If you have an idea or suggestion then please contact us.
