Round Spiggie Fun Run and Walk

Mind Your Head Fun Run

A healthy mind goes hand in hand with a healthy body so what better way to promote positive mental health than to take part in a fun run and walk around Spiggie Loch.

No matter your age, gender, fitness level or capability you are invited to take part in a 5k or 10k raising funds for Mind Your Head.

The 5k and 10k routes can be completed in whatever way each participant wishes. Athletes can run the distance for a time, mum can push her baby round at a leisurely pace or a group of friends can do it fancy dress or three-legged!

The aim of the day is to get as many people together from all communities and walks of life to promote and raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental ill-health.

The date for the 2012 event will be announced in Spring.

Registration

Pre-registration for the 2012 event will open in May.

Participants who pre-register are guaranted to receive a t-shirt on race day.  A limited number of t-shirt will be available on the day but will be allocated on a first come first serve basis - so pre-register if you can or get there early on race day!  Unlike previous years, t-shirts will not be posted out after the event.

Entrants under the age of 12 should complete an entry form even though no fee is payable as a t-shirt will be issued.

Entry Fee

Sponsorship

Although not compulsory, participants can gather sponsorship for the event. You can do this in two ways:

  • Create a page on Just Giving.  Setting up your page is easy, it doesn't cost you a penny and any sponsor money comes directly to us so you don't have to chase people for money.  Once you've set up your page then you can share it with your family, friends and colleagues.
  • Download a sponsorship form and gather sponsors in the traditional way.  Please ask sponsors to gift aid their donation if they can.  All monies and forms should be handed in on the day to a committee member (making any cheques payable to Mind Your Head).

Start/Finish

The 10k will start and finish at the Boddam Sports Field (opposite the Dunrossness Public Hall).

The 5k will start near the Noss junction and finish at the Boddam Sports Field (opposite the Dunrossness Public Hall). Transport will be provided to the starting point from the Boddam Sports Field following registration.

Information Pack

On receipt of your registration form we will send you an information pack including your race number and further information about day.

On the day

Participants will still be able to enter on the day however we cannot guarantee that you will receive a t-shirt in your chosen size.

Registration takes place at the Boddam Sports Field from 12.45pm to 1.45pm (opposite the Dunrossness Hall). Please hand in the tear off slip from your race number at which point you will receive your t-shirt. Once registered, please remain on the sports field. The run/walk will start at the entrance to the playing field at 2pm.

We will endeavour to get everyone's finish times however please note we cannot guarantee that all times will be recorded.
