2009 Fun Run Review & Gallery
The 2009 Fun Run took place on 9 August with a record 563 participants. We were so lucky again with the weather, and the whole day had a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.
The MYH committee would like to thank the Sumburgh Hotel who sponsored the event. Thanks also to JA and GD Nicolson, Dunrossness Hall Committee, Boddam Sports Pavilion, Shetland Farm Dairies, Ian Williamson and Arlene Bristow for their continued support of the event. Malcolm Younger and Elaine for their coverage of the event.
Thanks also to Neil Wadley and his team for the First Aid. Thanks also to Alex and Aarron for their marshalling and the staff in the hall kitchen and all the bakers for providing such a wonderful Sunday Tea!
Thanks to Lisa and Louise and their team for organising the kid’s activities.
Most of all the MYH committee would like to thank all the runners and walkers who took part. Your continued support is so much appreciated. Shona Manson, Chairperson said this years event had exceeded all expectations. Having so many folk take time out of their busy schedules to get together to meet with friends for a run or walk to support the charity was overwhelming.
It is anticipated that the event will have raised around £5,000.
For those who registered on the day and didn’t manage to get a t-shirt, they will be posted out week beginning 31 August.
Finish times have been recorded for most participants and will be posted here soon. Apologies if your time has not been recorded.
